Fisher Hill has six easy to use workbooks to help Spanish speakers develop and improve English reading comprehension skills. These workbook are geared toward Spanish speakers but anyone can use them. The workbooks are called English Reading Comprehension for the Spanish Speaker. Each workbook has twenty lessons. Lessons include practice with fluency, vocabulary, visualization, comprehension, phonology and phonics. There is an answer key at the end of each lesson. At the end of each workbook are English translations of the Spanish directions.
To view sample pages from each workbook, click on the blue box that says Sample Pages.
Students like our workbooks because the pace is reasonable, print is large, directions are in Spanish, plenty of pictures but the content is for older students. Teachers like our books because everything is ready to go! These workbooks are appropriate for using with an entire class or with individual students. The directions are in Spanish with English translations at the end of each workbook.
These workbooks can also be downloaded as ebooks. On our website, click on the picture of the workbook, see the word OPTION, scroll down and choose ebook.
The English Reading Comprehension workbooks are part of Fisher Hill’s English Structured Literacy Program. The Structured Literacy Program has six levels with four workbooks at each level: Reading and Spelling, Reading Comprehension, Writing Composition and Vocabulary. Each level begins with the Reading and Spelling workbook.
On our website, there are free placement tests to determine on which level a student should begin. A student needs a score of 80% to go to the next level. For example, if a student gets 60% on the placement test for level one, then that student needs to begin with Level 1.
