About Fisher Hill

Kathleen Fisher - ESL Workbook Author

For 25 years, Fisher Hill has been publishing ESL workbooks to help Spanish-speaking teens and adults learn English. Our workbooks help at-risk and ELD students build proficiency in English reading, speaking, and writing. Workbook pages are ready to go to meet the demands of today’s classrooms. The workbooks support the Common Core State Standards. Pictures and large print make the workbooks user friendly.

Kathleen Fisher has taught kindergarten, first grade, fourth grade and fifth grade. She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas and a Master’s degree from the University of California at Los Angeles. She has two boys and both had reading difficulties. Her experiences of twenty-seven years in the classroom (ten years in bilingual classrooms), living in South America, a member of the International Dyslexia Association and raising two boys are the basis for the creation of her workbooks. She uses many pictures and large print in her workbooks because she knows how difficult it can be learning to read and write, especially in a second language.
