The first two workbooks teach basic sentence structure and how to write informative paragraphs. The next two workbooks include instruction and practice for writing simple, compound and complex sentences. They also provide instruction and practice for writing informative and operational essays. The last two workbooks provide instruction and practice for writing persuasive and contrast/comparison essays. There is an answer key at the end of each workbook. The first two workbooks have the same Table of Contents but the skills and vocabulary are more advanced in Book 2. The same applies for Books 3 and 4. They also have the same Table of Contents but Book 4 has more advanced skills and vocabulary. Same with Books 5 and 6.

Students like our workbooks because the pace is reasonable, print is large, directions are in Spanish, plenty of pictures but the content is for older students. Teachers like our books because everything is ready to go!
These workbooks are appropriate for using with an entire class or with individual students. The directions are in Spanish with English translations at the end of each workbook.
The six English Writing Composition for the Spanish Speaker workbooks are part of Fisher Hill’s English Structured Literacy Program for Spanish speakers. The Structured Literacy Program has six levels with four workbooks at each level: Reading and Spelling, Reading Comprehension, Writing Composition and Vocabulary. On our website, there are free placement tests to determine on which level a student should begin the Structured Literacy Program. A student needs a score of 80% to go to the next level. For example, if a student gets 60% on the placement test for level one, then that student needs to begin with Level 1.
