Last week Fisher Hill exhibited its workbooks for Spanish-speaking teens and adults at Operation 2017: Correctional Education Association Conference and Training Event. Fisher Hill highlighted its English literacy program for Spanish-speaking teens and adults at its booth. This English literacy program has six levels.

Each level contains:

an English Reading and Spelling workbook

English Reading Comprehension workbook

English Writing Composition workbook

and an English Vocabulary workbook

The Engish Reading and Spellilng workbooks provides a very systematic and explicit approach to teaching the fory-four speech sounds used in the English language. By the time, students have finished the first three levels, they have learned and practiced most of the forty-four speech sounds and most of the beginning and ending consonant blends. In levels four through six, they finished learning the speech sounds and begin learning about prefixes and suffixes. Students practice their reading comprehension and writing skills in the reading comprehension and writing composition workbooks. With the vocabulary workbooks, students review the vocabuary from each particulary level. When students finish the literacy program thay have an excellent foundation in English literacy.

Adults like our workbooks because the pace is reasonable, print is large, directions are in Spanish, there’s lots of pictures but the content is for adults. Teachers like our books because everything is ready to go! There’s an answer key at the the end of each lesson and an English translation of the Spanish directions at the end of each book.
